Drifting by Nicole Gifford author info As they lay sleeping Together She wakes slightly and feels Her breasts disengage from his back And she hopes he doesn’t move Because it is finally warm. She is comforted by the sound of The train 5 blocks away. She is curious of the dream That woke her And tries to assemble The poem that the angels Whisper to her. Should she reach for a pen, She wonders briefly As she begins to Drift away from herself. She thinks, “I’ll remember that” “I’ll remember that” |
